You are probably aware that the new Chippewa Area History Center is now under construction, next to Irvine Park’s main entrance. The all-volunteer effort to reach the $3,500,000 Capital Campaign goal has gone well, with $3,180,000 raised as of January 2021. That means we still need another $320,000 to reach goal. COVID-19 has made the Campaign fund-raising very challenging, but we are “on the home stretch.” We have received donations from over 500 individuals, families, and organizations, but we need many more gifts to cross the finish line.

EXCITING NEWS: Trustees of the BA Mason Trust are offering another MATCHING GIFT program like they did last Fall. They will match all gifts or pledges received between April 1 and June 1, 2021, up to $50,000. This is an excellent opportunity and time for more members of our community to make a donation. If possible, please consider joining the current 110 members of one of the Societies who are supporting local history preservation and education.

To learn more, you can view the Chippewa Area History Center brochure, "Letter of Commitment” and “Donor Recognition Plan” by clicking on the buttons below. Also see below for information on how donations can be made online, by mail, or in person at the Community Foundation of Chippewa County.

The building construction is expected to be completed by September. Please help us reach the Campaign goal, as we look forward to celebrating the opening of this beautiful, new History Center.

Chippewa County has a rich and interesting history, told in the voices of our fur traders and European immigrants, our town builders, and our region’s Ojibwe, Dakota, and Ho-Chunk nations.  Please join us in creating the new Chippewa Area History Center — a place to preserve and share our many stories. Click the link below to see three ways you can make a donation.
