School Tours: Field trips at the Chippewa Area History Center allow students to experience the local and global history of Chippewa County up close! We design our tours to meet state learning standards, promote critical thinking, and foster hands-on learning. School tours are open to public and private schools, as well as homeschool groups.

Areas of focus can include Wisconsin prehistory, the Ojibwe people, the fur trade, logging and industry, rural farm life, fishing, and so much more! Find out more about our exhibits here. School visits may be as short as 45 minutes, or up to a couple hours. The Chippewa Area History Center is wheelchair accessible and there are two classroom-size meeting spaces.

Irvine Park: The Chippewa Area History Center neighbors Irvine Park, a 300-acre free public park. The park features natural beauty, a zoo, a petting zoo, a scenic dam, interpretive center, picnic shelters, restrooms, and historical displays. Click HERE to discover more about Irvine Park.

Volunteers: Do you love working with children and learning about history? Are you available on weekdays mornings or afternoons? Consider becoming an education volunteer. Contact Jarrod Showalter by email at educator@cahcwi.org or phone 715-723-4399.
