Sustaining partners
(year round)
Established in October 2024, this program recognizes those generous donors who have expressed their intent to support our operational costs with an annual gift of $1000 or more for the foreseeable future (typically three or more years). A continual challenge that virtually all non-profits face is generating adequate funds for ongoing operation expenses. The Chippewa Area History Center also faces that challenge. Admission fees and membership fees cover less than 50% of our operating costs.
If you are interested in becoming a Sustaining Partner, please contact our Executive Director, Jarrod Showalter. Thank You!

Legacy Lights
(november-december)
The Chippewa Area History Center is honored to carry on the St. Joseph's Hospital Love Lights tradition with the Legacy Lights program.
The inaugural St. Joseph's Hospital Love Lights lighting ceremony (held December 7, 1988) featured a Christmas prayer and caroling by
the Chi-Hi Madrigal Singers. Almost 500 lights were dedicated the first year, 329 in memory of departed friends and family, and 163 in honor of living individuals and families. The tradition would stretch 35 years in total, with the hospital’s last set being lighted in 2023, before the closing of St. Joseph’s Hospital in April 2024.
